Sekah Ganesha Foundation has officially introduced its impactful programs to the leaders and stakeholders of Keramas and Medahan villages. This socialization event was a crucial step in spreading awareness about our mission and identifying targeted beneficiaries—especially youth from low-income families and people with disabilities who can benefit from our educational, cultural, and environmental initiatives.
Supporting Families with Balinese Ceremonies
Many Balinese families struggle with the high costs of traditional ceremonies. To address this, Sekah Ganesha Foundation has launched a mass ceremony program to reduce financial burdens, particularly for essential rites such as Meligia. This initiative ensures that families, regardless of economic status, can honor their cultural and religious practices with dignity.
Preserving Balinese Culture for Future Generations
We also introduced our cultural preservation programs, inviting families to enroll their children in Balinese dance, gamelan (Balinese musical instrument) practice, and puppet training. These activities instill pride in Balinese heritage, helping younger generations stay connected to their cultural roots in an era dominated by digital distractions.
Empowering Youth through Education & Vocational Training
For youth who have finished school but are uncertain about their next steps, we offer free foreign language training in English, Spanish, and French. Learning these languages provides them with essential skills to enhance their future job prospects. Additionally, we provide hospitality training in collaboration with Keramas Sacred River, offering a real-world learning environment to prepare students for careers in tourism and hospitality. Our goal is to bridge the gap for underprivileged youth who cannot afford university education or formal vocational training.
A Commitment to Sustainability and Environmental Protection
Beyond empowering individuals, Sekah Ganesha Foundation is deeply committed to protecting our planet. Our sustainability initiatives include waste management education (teaching families and children how to properly sort waste), tree-planting to combat deforestation, and regular clean-up drives for streets, beaches, and rivers. We also promote organic farming, encouraging families to grow their own food sustainably and live healthier lives.
Community Support and Enthusiasm
During the presentation, local leaders and stakeholders expressed strong enthusiasm for the programs, pledging their support in reaching the right beneficiaries and spreading awareness beyond the villages to the greater Balinese community. This collective effort will strengthen our ability to create lasting change.
